Gabor Rakonczay

Just a few days before Christmas 2011, an young Hungarian explorer embarked from the Portuguese Lagos for 6,400 km long voyage across the Atlantic. Alone. After 77 days spent on the ocean ,his special canoe arrived in Antigua Caribbean.

Gabor Rakonczay paddled the ocean two times and he sailed it twice. He ploughed through the ocean over 30 000 km. He holds two Guinness World Records (one with his ex-wife Victoria) and the price of Adventure (National Geographic Adventures).

He realized his childhood dream founding himself all alone in the great ocean. Storms, waves where his 7.5 meters long boat was literally losing, loss of life and human isolation reliant on yourself, without any connection with the world.

More about this and other nontraditional cruises across the ocean will tell you Gabor Rakonczay in his presentation on Saturday night.
