HoryZonty - Adventures in Visegrad Region

In a special block of events titled Adventures in Visegrad region, conducted with the financial support of the International Visegrad Fund, will once again host the guests from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This time the presentations will be associated with water.

View of water as a specific ecosystem and life with her will present a pair of fishermen from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the importance and the need to protect water will be justified by an experienced Polish scientist and environmentalist, and thirdly water as sport ambition and dream of an Hungarian explorer.

A pair of friends, Jaro Sámela from Trenčín and Petr Prochazka from the Czech Republic, reaches fishing success not only in their home countries. The Friday presentation they will approach us their trips for large fish, the conference give us aswell some information on fishing and sport fishing opportunities in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

One of the themes of the festival is the protection of nature. You will learn about the problems of environmental protection and water specifically in Poland and neighboring in the presentation with top Polish ecologist and hydrobiologist Roman Zurek. "Those above me are probably not too happy," said Roman, participating in several international projects. In their effort to respect nature, despite scientific arguments constantly alludes to myths that politicians are trying to push through.

Some real sport adventure will be presented by Hungarian explorer Gábor Rakonczay. It took him several weeks to cross the ocean. Who could say that he holds Guinness record for swimming across the Atlantic in a canoe being a citizen of the country whose shores are entirely without the sea.

Talking about aquatic adventures of people from the Visegrad region will complete photographs of Jaroslava Samel and Peter Zachar.You will be able to see their journey for the fish during the festival right in the place of presentation “Posádkový klub.”

With the adventure we are thinking also of the children. They aswell are fascinated by nature, so something interesting is going on for them on Saturday. The afternoon´s workshop bearing the name “Inspired by nature” will hold a place in the kid´s playroom on the first floor of “Posádkový klub”.
